On the transplantation day, you will first have another conversation with the doctor in charge. We will explain the whole procedure to you again and clarify any unanswered questions. Then, the treatment area on your head is drawn in, for example the hairline. We do this until you are satisfied. Then, the head is shaved in preparation for your hair transplant.

The next step is the removal of the grafts from the back of the head (i.e. the donor area). This is done in the prone position while your donor area is locally anaesthetised. You will not feel anything during the extraction itself. After the grafts have been removed, there is a short break. Then the canals are opened in the recipient area in preparation for the implantation of the grafts. The grafts are then implanted into the target area of the head. You can return home on the same day.
